Research Interest
Cellular metabolism in hippocampal neuronal stem cells is evolving as an important regulator of adult neurogenesis. Furthermore mitochondrial dysfunction caused by respiratory chain impairments is known as an important reason for human diseases and ageing. I am interested in the impact of mitochondrial metabolism on the hippocampal neurogenesis by studying the neural stem cell-specific knockout of the mitochondrial transcrition factor A (Tfam).
